Versara is an innovative trade financing platform built on blockchain technology. Versara intends to improve on traditional factoring and asset-based lending (ABL) by using cryptocurrency as extra collateral (“Crypto Credit Enhancement”) in addition to invoices, diversifying risk through structuring, and making trade finance accessible to the retail investor.
Founder & CEO Sean Liu
Sean is a seasoned manager with more than a decade of experience in financial products, covering security finance, credit derivatives and other fixed-income instruments. Most recently, he was a Regional Manager in the UBS New York office where he led teams to roll out their cross-asset capital markets platform. Sean spent the vast majority of his career in FinTech at Murex, the top enterprise capital markets platform vendor that focuses on trading, risk, treasury, and post-trade operations. Sean led system implementation efforts to provide tailored solutions to banks and asset managers. Sean began his career as a software developer and worked in quantitative trading platform development in New York. Sean is a graduate of New Mexico State University and earned a Master’s of Science in Financial Mathematics and a Master’s of Engineering in Electrical Engineering. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Tsinghua University in China.
Dan has years of experience providing professional consulting services to clients ranging from startups to global corporations. He specializes in bringing rigorous testing and elegant code to tough engineering challenges. He has deep expertise in many aspects of artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning, and automation.
Throughout his career, Dan has held a variety of titles from architect, to scrum master, to director of software engineering. He has been responsible for leading teams as well as redesigning critical business applications to improve scalability, testability, and maintainability. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke and a master’s degree in computer science from Harvard
Dennis Thankachan is an experienced investor across technology and telecommunications. Prior to Versara, Dennis was a research analyst at both PointStateCapital and Och-Ziff covering equities in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. Prior to this, Dennis was at Goldman Sachs advising companies in the Industrial sector. He has also worked at Naya Ventures and Apollo Management. Dennis has degrees in Computer Science and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, and has been accepted into Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
